What a fun‑filled week in Grade 2! We wrapped up our mock election, and the results were clear—our students voted for “all of the above!” That meant the best kind of celebration: a cozy pajama day complete with a movie and crafting fun. Smiles were everywhere! We were also thrilled to welcome Ms. Rebekah , Reese’s mom, who taught us all about life as a firefighter. She shared important fire safety tips, special firefighter traditions, and why teamwork is such a big part of the job. The highlight? Getting an up‑close look at her gear—students were amazed by the boots, pants, jacket, helmet, mask, and even the rope! In the classroom, we launched our new science unit on Living Systems , where we’re learning about parents and their offspring. We also practiced procedural writing , and I can confidently say these kids now know exactly how to brush their teeth properly! What a busy and exciting week we’ve had in Grade 2! Can you believe the leprechauns remembered they were almost trapped last year? Those mischievous little sprites certainly made quite the mess of our classroom! Along with our St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans, we were honoured to welcome Indigenous Elder Mr. Hal Eagle Tail , who shared stories about the spring equinox and sang traditional songs with us. We also learned about the prairie crocus as one of the first signs of spring. Please take a moment to have your child tell you more about their week.   Grade 2 Weekly Update What a fun and full week we’ve had in Grade 2! No School Next Friday Parent-teacher conferences will take place. Please book a time to come celebrate your child’s growth. Every child has strengths, and every child has challenges - both are completely normal! We truly are a team, and it really does take a village. There's also the Book Fair on Thursday night and Friday. Many great books and a great fundraiser for our school library! During Parent-Teacher Conferences on   Thursday, March 19   and   Friday, March 20 , we invite families to place a colourful push pin on our world map located in our Learning Commons to show where their family comes from .
